These were the records that were broken at South Pole Station in January 2011:

January 29th: The average wind speed of 14.8 knots (17 mph) broke the previous record of 14.1 knots (16.2 mph) set in 1958.
January 30th: The maximum temperature of -22.8°C (-9.0°F) broke the previous record of -23.2°C (-9.8°F) set in 1987.
January 30th: The peak wind speed of 24 knots (28 mph) broke the previous record of 23 knots (27 mph) set in 2004.
January 30th: The average wind speed of 15.3 knots (17.5 mph) broke the previous highest average wind speed record of 14.0 knots (16.1 mph) set in 1998.
